FeSiBa inoculant is a ferroalloy containing ferrosilicon (FeSi) with added barium (Ba) and sometimes small amounts of calcium (Ca) or aluminum (Al). It is widely used in the foundry industry to improve the quality of cast iron by enhancing the nucleation of graphite and reducing carbide (chill) formation.

Applications of FeSiBa Inoculant
In Casting
Ferro Silicon Barium Inoculants apply to grey cast iron , nodular cast iron, ductile casting iron and vermicular casting iron. Ferro Silicon Barium has complete deoxidizing effect and better than the other deoxidizing alloy agents. Ferro Silicon Barium has strong ability of spheroidizing and anti-recession and can effectively prevent castings from chilling tendency.
In Steelmaking

Ferro Silicon Barium can reduce the occurrence of smoke and flame when joined in steelmaking. Ferro Silicon Barium change the nature and distribution of non metallic inclusions in steel. The high quality inoculant can improve the metal cutting performance. The high quality inoculant showe good anti fading and reduce the section sensitivity.
Production Process of Ferro Silicon Barium
Ferro silicon barium is produced by proportionally mixing raw materials containing Si, Ba, and Fe, which are then smelted at high temperatures in an electric furnace to create molten ferro silicon barium. To ensure the best performance of ferro silicon barium, the chemical composition must be controlled with Si between 70% and 80%, Fe between 20% and 30%, and Ba between 5% and 10%. The production process of ferro silicon barium adn ferro silicon calcium by involves four steps: selection, mixing, smelting, and casting.
The raw materials used for producing ferro silicon barium must undergo laboratory sampling and testing, and the compositions should be adjusted according to user requirements. During the smelting process, various factors such as furnace type, furnace temperature, time, gas flow, and internal pressure must be strictly controlled to ensure the quality of the produced ferro silicon barium meets the required standards. Additionally, during the casting process, the speed, temperature, and direction of casting should be monitored to ensure the purity of ferro silicon barium.
