Silicon Metal (Crystalline Silicon or Industrial Silicon) is mainly used as an additive for non-ferrous alloys.

It is a product smelted from quartz and coke in an electric heating furnace, with the silicon content accounting for about 98% (in recent years, products with a Si content of 99.99% are also classified as Silicon Metal).The remaining impurities include iron, aluminum, calcium, etc.

The models of Silicon Metal include 553, 441, 421, 3303 and 2202.

Applications of Silicon Metal

It serves as an additive for non-ferrous alloys, such as improving the performance in aluminum alloys.

It is used to produce organosilicon compounds, such as silicone oil and silicone rubber, which are widely used in construction, chemical industry and other fields.

It is used as a raw material in the semiconductor industry, and is used to manufacture integrated circuits, solar cells, etc. after purification.

It is used as a reducing agent in iron and steel smelting, or to manufacture high-temperature resistant materials such as silicon carbide and silicon molybdenum rods.
