Description

Aluminum Shot (Cut Wire & Cast) for Precision Blasting & Deburring

Our industrial-grade Aluminum Shot is engineered for precision surface preparation, deburring, and shot peening of non-ferrous components. Available in Cut Wire (extruded wire chopped to length) and Cast variants, it provides clean, controlled impact without contaminating soft-metal surfaces with ferrous residue. Manufactured in our ISO 9001 certified facility using virgin-grade aluminum alloy wire, each batch undergoes strict sizing and conditioning to ensure predictable kinetic energy transfer and extended operational lifespan in blast cabinets and wheel machines.

Key Features

01/

Zero Ferrous Contamination: Prevents rust staining and galvanic corrosion on aluminum, magnesium, and titanium workpieces.

02/

High Durability (Cut Wire): Uniform grain structure offers significantly longer working life compared to fragile cast abrasives.

03/

Controlled Hardness: Conditioned (rounded) options available to eliminate sharp edges, transitioning from aggressive deburring to smooth peening.

04/

Dust Reduction: Low friability minimizes fine dust generation during high-velocity pneumatic and wheel blast operations.

Applications

Automotive

Defashing and deburring aluminum die-cast transmission housings, engine blocks, and wheel hubs.

Aerospace

Surface preparation and peening of structural aluminum and titanium components prior to anodizing or coating.

Foundry & Metallurgy

Removing core sand, scale, and surface imperfections from non-ferrous castings.

Aesthetic Finishing

Creating uniform matte finishes on architectural aluminum extrusions and consumer electronics housings.

Manufacturing & Quality Control

Produced via automated high-speed wire chopping and multi-stage mechanical rounding lines.

Dimensional Screening: Rotary vibrating screens ensure strict adherence to particle size distribution (PSD) tolerances.

Lab Testing: In-house optical emission spectrometry (OES) verifies chemical composition; Vickers hardness testers measure mechanical properties per lot. (Equipped with precision microscopic particle size analysis laboratories).

Traceability: Each 25kg bag and 1000kg supersack is marked with a melt and lot number tied directly to quality inspection certificates.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between Cut Wire Aluminum Shot and Cast Aluminum Shot?

A: Cut wire shot is chopped from drawn wire, resulting in high density, uniform size, and extreme durability (slower breakdown rate). Cast shot is produced by atomizing molten metal, which is more cost-effective but breaks down faster under high-impact conditions.

Q: Will aluminum shot leave iron contamination on my parts?

A: No. Our cut wire shot is manufactured from high-purity aluminum wire, eliminating the risk of ferrous embedding that occurs when using steel shot on aluminum substrates.

Q: Can I request conditioned (rounded) cut wire shot?

A: Yes. We offer as-cut (sharp edges) as well as G1, G2, and G3 conditioned grades where the sharp corners are rounded off to prevent gouging soft metals during peening.
