High Carbon Silicon

High carbon silicon is a silicon-carbon alloy and a by-product of producing metallic silicon. The main components of high carbon silicon are silicon and carbon, with a silicon content of more than 55%, a carbon content of more than 15%, and a small amount of phosphorus and sulfur. It can replace traditional deoxidizers such as iron silicon powder and calcium carbide. In converter steelmaking, the steel slag formed by its rapid deoxidation is easy to separate, and at the same time, the carbon element is released to reduce the dependence on carburizers; the high calorific value (6.58kcal/g) characteristic supplements heat energy in the furnace, reducing power consumption and fuel costs. It has stable chemical properties, good deoxidation and desulfurization effects, and can also achieve the effect of carbon increase, effectively reducing steelmaking costs. At the same time, high carbon silicon is also an efficient heating agent in steelmaking, with a calorific value of up to 6.58kcal/g, which can not only improve the quality of molten steel and enhance product performance, but also help increase economic benefits.
