Ferrosilicon

Ferrosilicon is an alloy made of coke, steel scraps and quartz by high-temperature reduction. It is silver-grey, hard and has good deoxidation, desulfurization and alloying properties. Ferrosilicon has excellent magnetic properties, high magnetic permeability, high resistivity, low iron loss and strong performance stability. In the metallurgical industry, it is mainly used for steelmaking deoxidation, improving the quality of steel and reducing the loss of chromium oxide. It can also be used as a fuel to reduce energy costs. It is used as a deoxidizer and alloying agent in the steelmaking industry. In order to obtain steel with qualified chemical composition and ensure the quality of steel, deoxidation must be carried out in the final stage of steelmaking. The chemical affinity between silicon and oxygen is very large, so ferrosilicon is a strong deoxidizer for steelmaking for precipitation and diffusion deoxidation. Adding a certain amount of silicon to steel can significantly improve the strength, hardness and elasticity of steel.
