March Market Update on Ferrosilicon Alloys: Steady Release of Demand, Prices Stabilizing

As March draws to a close, the domestic ferrosilicon alloy market has stabilized. With the recovery of operating rates at downstream steel mills, demand for ferrosilicon has been steadily increasing, and market transactions have become more active.

Downstream Demand: Steel mills are proceeding with procurement in an orderly manner

Since March, as temperatures have risen, demand for construction steel has gradually recovered, and steel mills' operating rates have continued to rebound. Driven by this trend, procurement demand for ferrosilicon alloys has remained stable.

Several steel mills have launched a new round of ferrosilicon tenders, with 75# and 72# ferrosilicon remaining the mainstream products in the market. Based on the tender results, steel mills continue to maintain strict quality requirements for ferrosilicon, with particular emphasis on controlling the content of impurities such as sulfur and phosphorus.

Raw Materials: Cost support remains relatively firm

In terms of raw materials, the price of lignite has remained stable recently, and electricity costs have stayed steady, providing solid support for ferrosilicon prices. Production facilities in major producing regions such as Ningxia and Inner Mongolia are operating normally, ensuring ample market supply.

Price trend: Stable with slight fluctuations

Market analysts believe that with the arrival of the traditional peak demand season, the ferrosilicon market is expected to maintain a stable and positive trend. However, given the fundamentally balanced supply-demand dynamics, the potential for significant price increases remains relatively limited.

Industry Trends: Technological Innovation Continues to Advance

Reducing production costs and enhancing product competitiveness through technological upgrades. Against the backdrop of increasingly stringent environmental policies, green and low-carbon production is becoming a trend in the industry.
